Sure. If I did not have a dog and were working in NY. She did a great job decorating. She has a great sense of style. It looks like it would be fine for the short term but definitely not for the long term. Think of how convenient it would be to be within walking distance to so many places. The apartment looked pretty cozy. I agree with her; people really need a lot less than they think they do.

As I pointed out, I would do it short term if I were a student or worked in NYC as it would be convenient and also if it was just me without my dog (or with any animal, as I think that would be very unfair). I'd just be looking for a crash pad with easy access to everything. It's not a "cage" if you don't have that perspective. It's your perspective. It's what you make of it.
Obviously, I have no interest in any type of permanent residence there as I love where I currently live, which is the middle of nowhere, lots of land and woods and water, the mountains, the ocean, woodland critters, clean air…I've got it all. I have no desire to live in NYC today.

            It totally is!
They are jackasses. However, it's a price to be paid for living in a liberal state that values our freedoms. I've been able to sleep as it's been a good 4 days since they've set off any explosives lol
I still wouldn't trade it for the noise of NYC. For comparison, having lived in Boston and always within walking distance to the T, buses and other public transport, restaurants and convenience stores, shopping, a short drive to the airport (meaning I heard the planes leaving every 90 seconds and knew their flight paths, which totally sucked as the only "quiet time" was between 2:30am and 4:00am). Believe me, I've dealt with city living, and this is superior for me….
            now
            . (Save the idiot neighbours).
I totally would have lived in that tiny little apartment, however.

I mean for 650 I could live with it for a few months, clean ,dry and fairly secure I guess. You can’t get a cardboard box in San Francisco for 650.

Are you kidding? In certain places, like Mayor Adam's NYC, they'll PAY certain people to live in tents or cardboard boxes. Don't be fooled.

She shouldn't have a large dog. Where is it when she's working? If it's stuck there all day, that's animal abuse, IMO.

She shouldn't have any pets living in that space. Unless she knew that was definitely temporary for, let's say, six months only, and she had arrangements to go to a large place where having a dog (or any animal) was logical and sustainable, then I totally agree. That is akin to animal abuse.
She did state she drops the dog off at doggy daycare while she's at work, so that's helpful. But anyone having dogs who lives in the city is just a very selfish person. It's so unfair to the animals.

Midtown, rooftop, all the basics, $200 a week.
It would only be for a short term contract though.
