"The Real West" documents struggle and courage, glory and tragedy. It is the story of pioneers and miners, gunslingers and gamblers, wranglers and railroaders, some searching for the new Eden, others for gold.
They travelled up the Missouri and along the Oregon trail, crossed the prairie and the desert and trekked over the mountains. In their path they left sod houses, cowtowns, mining camps and the weakened remains of once mighty Indian tribes.
Some of these adventurers became legends–Wyatt Earp, Jesse James, Billy the Kid and Calamity Jane. Some are lost to history. This is the story of them all.

Other than Audie Murphy or John Wayne, I can't think of a better narrator for that documentary.
When my siblings and I were kids, we'd sometimes spend Saturday afternoon watching old westerns and black & movies with our dad. Talk about fond memories.. Those were the days!

When it comes to revisiting American history - documentaries about the wild west, the civil war, slavery, and civil rights will always spark my interest.
