That's basically what happened with my ex. I let them stay for two weeks while they got back on their feet and a few weeks turned into a few months and then eventually two years. They did nothing to look for a place of their own and it was always "I'll look next week." I eventually got fed up and asked them to leave and they got mad. You just can't help some people.
