i wasnt that impressed. couldnt feel anything for the characters. it felt like another indian film that shows off the poverty and the squalor (nothing wrong with showing off poverty but not at the expense of good characterization and writing).
it portrays the low budget horror porn industry as exotic albeit sleazy. the framing and the hypnotic quality of the sound recording left me feeling very distant.
nawazuddin is his usual natural self. anil george is yet another unremarkable actor who looks gruff and delivers his dialogs in a horrible aesthetically displeasing throaty growl. niharika singh was demure and beautiful. but nothing in her performance to write home about.
(6/10)

I wrote an almost essay length post about it, but like an idiot, failed to save it.
I don't remember most of it, but the movie is pretty enjoyable if you realize that the director foisted a cookie-cutter Bollywood plot on the proceedings just so that seasoned audiences can divert their attention away from the plot and actually notice what the director wants to show. -

watched it again. no change in my opinion. the film is upto its neck in sleazeball porn movie industry archetypes - the tough hard drinking director who is at the mercy of producers, the producer/gangster/financier who is ruthless and violent for no good reason and also a womanizer, hard drinking vamps who have vicious catfights, the one demure and kind hearted actress.
and why was everyone mumbling and talking in low voices?

I thought it was particularly well directed and it is that hypnotic quality which stood out.
Not a finished article but interesting film.
