An interesting fact is that MS Dhoni got paid 50 crores for selling the rights for his biopic. On the other hand, Mahavir Singh Phogat whom Aamir offered remuneration for selling his rights to make a biopic on him, refused the money citing that if his biopic inspires parents all over the country to make their daughters take up sports, that will be the biggest reward for him. Imagine, had he accepted that kind of amount, his life would have been set forever. And he is a Dronacharya awardee too. That speaks volumes about the difference in character. Not that I am belittling Dhoni's achievements, but for a man who's already a multimillionaire, to charge money for a honest and passionately made biopic on him was very shallow on his part on moral grounds, in my opinion. Besides, the sport he represents, i.e. Cricket, though highly popular in India, is played professionally by hardly 10-12 countries whereas wrestling is represented by 110 countries, including India at the Olympics and other international tournaments. So the visibility of wrestling as a sport is greater than that of Cricket. Not that I have a problem with it; I love the game. It proves that sportsmen of yesteryear like Mahavir Singh ji are made of different stuff than the sportsmen of today who seem to place greater emphasis on wealth, fame and self-assertion rather than inculcation of national pride and pursuit of international glory for the country. Big salute to Mahavir Singh Phogat ji.
