Even if the joker says that for every movie, he never called any film "best in a decade". Now that is one compliment you don't get to see everyday.
"Mind-blowing, superlative, exceptional, fantastic" - you see these kind of adjectives mostly from celebrities, for every 2nd film.
Also, here the protagonist is Aamir Khan. Not a Salman or an SRK. This guy is known to churn decade defining films, infact 4-5 in the last decade alone.
If he is lying, he'll loose all credibility, whatever he has left.
Don't think he's lying here, though. -

Very true. I remember reading similar praise for
Sairat
, and ended up feeling underwhelmed after watching.
There are several studies in the field of consumer psychology showing that pre-movie expectations have a big impact on how we view the film's quality. A top-notch movie, when viewed with low expectations, evokes the emotion of joy. The same movie, when viewed with high expectations, instead evokes mere satisfaction. Subtle differences like this significantly bias us to the movie's quality.

That joker says same crap about every movie. "Praise" in India is nothing but a circle-jerking echo chamber of everyone repeating the phrases "mindblowing", "take a bow", "congrats", and "bravo". They do this with not only mainstream cinema but independent cinema as well. There is no hierarchy or canonization of film possible if every film is being touted as equally important and landmark or different or interesting as all the rest. It just devalues actual great cinema. It's the equivalent of giving everyone a participation trophy.
Truer words were never spoken about the incestuous clique and "
circle-jerk
" that stands for Bollywood.
"
All the truth in the world adds up to one big lie.

Not because of karan johar but I'm excited too for dangal because its aamir's movie. Hope it crosses sultan but i know it would be more realistic movie and has less chances to cross it. Anyways a good movie remains with the viewers for long decades.
