Jessica Lange had auditioned for
Saturday Night Fever
but lost the role to the then daytime soap star, Karen Lynn Gorney
It was the role she would rather have, since film critics were very brutal on her at the time thinking she'd never be able to act…it took her a few years to prove them wrong.
Ironically, Karen Lynn Gorney's career took a huge dive, and even after she posed fully nude to get some attention a few years after, she was ignored by casting directors, and faded into obscurity.
Kim Basinger's first audition was for the role that went to Jessica Lange in
King Kong
A very young Melanie Griffith also auditioned for the part
A young, unknown at the time, Bo Derek, was offered the role, but she turned it down
Britt Ekland was also offered the part and turned it down
Farrah Fawcett, who had just completed her small role in
Logan's Run
, had been considered for the part, but she had gotten a call from Charlie that seemed like a better offer
Other contenders of that period were -
Nancy Allen
Susan Blakely
Cybill Shepherd
Misty Rowe
Coleen Camp
Sue Lyon
And Meryl Streep was turned down for being too ugly -

i would do anything to have her, evan rachel wood is so beautiful my gosh. but she aged horribly, you look at her nowadays and she looks so bad compared to how she looked when she was in thirteen.
she has the keira knighltly syndrome of aging which is her face got longer and less beautiful and weird and bad looking and shaped. brooke shields was afflicted with this same syndrome in the '80s. a miss shaped face syndrome from aging, from going from teens or 20s to 30s.

I don't think she has aged 'horribly'. She looked youthful well into her 20s, mid 20s here:

pretty much the most beautiful blonde girl of all time is brigitte bardot oh my gosh she had this extremely rare natural and exotic beauty and this inhumanly beautiful face that was so stunning and fresh little girl that it was something to behold looking at her face. she had the most alluring face ever. she was every guts fantasy the best dream girl ever.
jayne mansfield had an amazingly alluring and beautiful face that was incomparable to any other '50s blonde girl's face.

now jessica was really beautiful in king kong but she was no that beautiful just 6 years later in tootsie in 1982 so i don't think she was that beautiful in king kong.
now catherine is the most beautiful in this list followed closely by faye dunnaway in bonnie and clyde who was painfully beautiful in this film and jane fonda in barbarella is just as beautiful as faye in b and c.
you have to watch catherine deneuve in compulsion to see who is basically the most beautiful girl who has ever lived also you have to watch mia farrow in rosemary's baby to see who is the basically the most beautiful girl who has ever lived.
