Something finally good happens in Tx and I don’t live there anymore. The rest of the states not in the trajectory are still getting partial eclipses so I will say many will get to see it.

Apparently I'm near the path of totality, but not close enough, so I'll only be able to view it partially.
Niagara Ontario is expecting near to 1 million spectators and the mayor wanted to declare it a state of emergency 😆

That is a lot of people for Niagara. I still have the pic of a rainbow I took through a bus window in 1985 lol.
Do we still need eyewear for a partial eclipse?

“It's really important to know whether you're in the path of totality or not. If you're not, you must wear proper eye protection the entire time,” Dr. Bajic said. “There is never a safe time to take off the glasses during a partial solar eclipse.”2 days ago
I was in Niagara that year too. The falls themselves are breathtaking, but the rest is a giant tacky tourist trap.
Have you ever visited Niagara-on-the-Lake? Beautiful wine country.

I was with another couple that year so we got stuck on The Maid of the Mist and the amusement/theme park stuff. I used to go with my oldest sister and her husband as they had a boat. I don’t remember which lake so I am not sure.

Maid of the Mist is cool. I was thinking more of the Wax museum and Ripley's Believe It or Not attraction and stuff like that.
Niagara-on-the-Lake is a town. Definitely worth visiting

My sister and her husband speak French but I don’t recall this beautiful place you posted. We went to a lake around Toronto I think? They lived in North Tonawanda.
I have been to Geneva on the lake which is close to Cleveland Oh but the same type of theme park as Niagara.
I do remember the wax and the mini coop museum but not sure of Ripley’s. Somewhere we had our pic taken of going over the falls in a barrel. 😂

Oh right. Niagara on the lake is the opposite of the falls. It's known for its beauty and vineyards.

I would have enjoyed this in 1985. I was 21 then. The times with my sister I was a teenager and visiting.

Seeing it’s by the water I must have been there at some point as a teenager? I doubt my sister or her French husband skipped on this?! We went to a restaurant where they spoke French but we were nowhere near Montreal. 🤷‍♀️

Interesting. Maybe it was a French restaurant?

Some were speaking French in Niagara as well because once these women made some nasty comment and my sister told them off in French and they went away. They thought we were tourists.
