True. It's why I took it the second I had the opportunity to, because life has been really low. For me, it was always like a soul cleanse, and in a way, like hitting restart on a bad computer. It won't ever be as good as it once was, but still better.
15 years ago, I would take shrooms every single weekend, and it was always educational. Even when "sober" we have bad "trips", but even during the first hour (it had been 8 years since my last trip, longest since first taking psychedelics) I was very "shaky". Not in panic, but was constantly trying to find something I was comfortable doing. I couldn't even write! I would go outside (since it was raining, meaning everyone else was INSIDE), and then go back inside.. I'd dance to the music a bit, and then look out my back door, and then try to lay down, and then trying to sit on my couch, play an instrument, but after a couple of hours, it was great..
The only downside is not getting any sleep. I didn't go to bed until 5am the first time and woke up at 7am. I guess I still had some energy and decided to cut the grass and clean up my living room.

Lol yeah, and there's that what i try to avoid, too: tripping alone, bc u described it very well, i too often felt a little lost when i was alone, and usually subconsciously went to bed and fell asleep! LMAO what a waste, but it was me trying to do sth that is "safe" and so i decided to go to bed…
that's why i would avoid tripping alone and plan a trip with at least one other person bc we would guide each other through that trip and make the best out of it, together. it's usually my bf then and it always gets very upclose and intimate. we talk everything out on trips. we even cured a relationship crisis we were going thru when tripping on acid for 2 days and nights and the relationship has been better than ever ever since that one trip. oh yeah, and also, sex on acid is the ultimate ****ing experience u could ever have. sex with my bf on acid feels like really truly melting together with him and become one. it's so so so wonderful, i don't really have words for it to describe it properly, but only thinking of that experience is just gonna make me cry right now. it's the ****ing best.

I actually love tripping alone. I have tripped a couple times with at least one other person but I noticed that I need to do things my way. playing the kind of music I want at that particular moment as well as the activity.
I actually fell asleep once on mushrooms and was tripping during my dreams. Actually I was tripping with this girl I was sleeping with and we both laughed ourselves to death. I felt like my soul was being tickled to death. But when I woke up I forgot I had taken mushrooms and was so lost. She was telling me I don't look good and she even offered to ride me to the hospital, but the minute I realized I was tripping I was fine. It was interesting because although we had gone to the same school, she graduated 11 years before me but had never taken them before. I guess they must have loosened her up because when I mentioned how I should check my mail, she went out completely topless to go retrieve my mail despite my female neighbor next door. Lol

                        Vittorio D - 10/10
I just saw a perfect example of how a documentary should be… And it's a documentary on my very favorite director - Vittorio De Sica. I was watching this with pride as if I were his son. I've searched for one in the past, but somehow I ran into this while browsing Amazon Prime, which I know many have, and should check out. I never heard De Sica speaking English, so there are limitations on knowing everything you can about the man, but his movies speak on his poetic yet realistic humanity…. I liked how it divided into segment… You had "The Director", "The Actor", "The Man", "The Gambler", "The Father", etc.
You don't see any young "flavor of the month" directors or actors, not because they don't know him, but because whoever produced it made sure he got the best of the best..
                        Featured in this documentary
                        -Clint Eastwood
                        -Woody Allen
                        -Sophia Loren
                        -Federic Fellini
                        -Ken Loach
                        -Mike Leigh
                        -Shirley MacLaine
                        -Ettore Scola (great Italian director)
                        -Mario Monicello
-Paul Mazursky (who told De Sica that he was stealing "Umberto D" to make (my favorite movie), "Harry and Tonto"
                        -Dino DeLaurentis (great producer)
and many others, including his friends.

You've got some great ones here, Mort.
I'd add a couple that were produced for and shown on the PBS series, "American Masters": Sidney Lumet and Mike Nichols, though I'm not sure they are easy to find. Both are very much worth seeing, however, if you can find them.
                              Also this:
Be Natural: The Untold Story of Alice Guy-Blaché
(2018). I saw it recently and even though I knew a lot about Alice Guy, the first female director and one of the first and most important film directors period, I found it revelatory.
