I've never heard
Blessed Are the Sick
(MA's second album) but I do own
Covenant
and
Domination
, I like both of those albums. I never got into the genre as a whole but I have a friend who's a big fan of all those bands, hence, I'm somewhat familiar with them. I saw Deicide live back in '95 - tight band/impressive musicianship but not really my cup of tea. -

Otep
It has been my experience that unless the singer is female I simply cant understand what the singer is singing at all. As a result I avoid most of the death/screamo/acid metal types of music.

Death metal bands would be pretty good if they would just get rid of the singers. Sorry but a roaring grizzly bear is not what I consider good vocals. There's no melody. I do love to watch death metal videos and just laugh uncontrollably at the serious singers looking all intense while making godzilla noises into the microphone.
I mean, how can you not crack up at this: -

You can try but no death metal fan will want to listen to someone attempting death metal vocals for the first time and falling miserably.
Which is what you would be doing in that scenario.

What makes me a bit mad about death metal is that the instrumental part of the songs are kick ass and energetic and awesome. I just can't appreciate it as much as I should because as soon as the singing starts, I just can't stop laughing.
