Sorry! Sounds/songs and smells are powerful triggers. Sometimes if you replace the old song with an unfamiliar one, that can help do the trick.

Of course! I still have my original cassette copy of The Waitresses'
I Could Rule the World If I Could Only Get the Parts
EP from 1982. "Christmas Wrapping" and "Square Pegs" are on it. -

I watched the Christmas episode of "Square Pegs" an hour ago. It was a two parter, so I got to have the main course and my dessert in one sitting. I love it when that happens.
It was a typically great episode. I don't think SP really had any klunkers. What was atypical was how they paired off Johnny Slash with Jennifer DiNuccio and Patti with LaDonna. That was sweet and it worked. Also any episode that can work in Ms. Loomis has got to be a goodie. She is hilarious.
This is the song by The Waitresses that my first boyfriend introduced me to in college.
Long live the New Wave!

I agree. The show was extremely clever and very funny, and it was a shame that it got cancelled after just the one year. It definitely could have run for at least one more year. The characters would have been sophomores then, so they could have had an episode centering on Patti getting her driver's license, but will she have to get a stronger prescription for her eyeglasses and an episode where Jennifer is having a big party for her sweet 16. Maybe Lauren could have gotten her braces removed. And why not have Blondie show up for a big song at the end of a Prom episode.
Obviously the show couldn't have really worked for more than 3 seasons at the most. But I have always thought that a second season would have been just great.
I think Patty is my favorite character, though I love them all. Except Marshall, whom I only like. La Donna and Muffy are, imo, the two funniest characters. Johnny is a sweetheart. The scene where he bonds with Muffy's grandmother (episode - "Muffy's Bat Mitzvah") is absolutely inspired.
