Before eMpTV bands and singers for some strange reason made these films of them singing and playing and I dunno who aired them or where they were shown.
Then after eMpTV they would make videos just to be shown on there and other shows that would feature music videos on other shows.
Sometimes they would even get fancy using whatever state of the art effects they had to create strange new vids.
And then they would get talked about.
"Did you see the new Cars vid? How crazy was that?"
"And how about that Billy Idol? His was really cool!"
And all videos are is just commercials and advertising for a music act.
eMpTV is the first 24/365 advertising channel.
Now reality TV has killed the video star. -

The Cars were on day 1 - 2 different vids, but both live clips.
Billy Idol didn't get there til late 1982 (White Wedding)
There was a vid for 'Hot In The City' but for some reason it wasn't shown on MTV.
Are you okay? -

First of all don't get your panties in real tight knots over what is just an example.
Second, I am sure that at some point when they were showing vids Cars and Idol were seen on the same day at least once at some point. -

lol…it's all good.
I just thought you might like to know when Idol made his debut on MTV.
I'm sure there were days they were played together.
'Hot In The City' got much radio play in the day, so not sure why MTV didn't promote it.
He also was on Solid Gold in that year performing his cover of 'Mony Mony' yet had no video for it.
Even 'Dancing With Myself' didn't get a vid til a couple years after it was released.
But when they finally did show Billy Idol on MTV, he was given more airplay than most artists at that time.
Are you okay?
