Post some music here that you consider to be intelligent. Interpret intelligence however you wish, but let us know why you think it qualifies.
Why does this qualify? I always struggle to articulate the brilliance of this track, but I'll try again. It's the ironically uplifting melody, synthesiser break, and the pace of the vocals. The genius lyrics, and the pseudo allegorical nature of the whole thing. Just imagine it playing as the events of that day were unfolding.
Stunning work of art. Its profundity chokes me up a little.

Yes, OMD did some great work.
I've always thought Devo's Mongoloid is a brilliant song. I'm talking about the whole concept that
one
can live a normal life and pass and no one ever realized. Plus it was a very basic punk song which used synths.

I hadn't heard that song before. I don't like it, to be truthful, but I can see why you've posted it here.
Was it based on somebody they knew? I'm not sure people with Down's Syndrome can go unnoticed, can they? Maybe I'm wrong and ignorant.
Would it explain Mechanic?

No, it's metaphorical for how society and science labels people, yet if that same person is in a different setting they may appear normal.
Mechanic is a union machinist. He's probably one of the top earners here. He said he makes over 100k and he's too dumb to tell a convincing lie. Lol. I knew he wasn't making it up.
But Mechanic with all due respect may be a good example.

Ok, makes sense now. I guess I took the lyrics to be literal.
Would anybody be able to write a song like that today? The modern world is taking us backwards.

If you have Down's Syndrome, you're screwed and can't go unnoticed.
However, there's a related condition called Trisomy 21 and it's like Downs but people can go undetected. So that's possible.
However, if you don't take it literally, the song has more meaning. -
