I honestly don't know where he is. I'm assuming he is dead. He wouldn't avoid social media because he was an artist. He wrote poetry and I could very well see him using social media as a platform to distribute his work. Plus we were very close. I was one of the only people who accepted him for who he was in high school. He wouldn't not try to reach out to me. He had a lot of suicidal tendencies although unprotected sex wasn't one of those things he would do. Therefore I think he died in another way.

I think the transformation took longer than 6 months. But yes, Smith was a goodlooking guy who turned into a freak. It's almost as bad as the decline of Peter Burns though not as sordid.

Well, he had a bizarre stage persona just like Bowie did. But Bowie could still do amazing personas when he got older. Smith is no Bowie.
Yeah, I've done my share of drugs and booze. I think I've survived it well.

Wow! I've never heard these lyrics before. Good find.
I've seen the Cure live in 2014 and 2016. They were my favourite band for most of high school. Robert Smith looks like a grandma these days. He was quite the stunner in the first few years of his career.
Another live gem from the early era:
