Nope, but I've literally spent a couple of grand just on sample vials. I was ordering 2-300 bucks a pop. They can be expensive (shipping is a real killer). I haven't sampled in a good couple of years, though. I'd say I'm familiar enough with 300+ fragrances that I could recognise them on first whiff. It's a fun passion.

Well, thank you. There was a book that was popular right when I was getting serious – Turin and Sanchez. I absorbed it in a single sitting, but I kept finding their opinions were vastly different to mine. And they weren't interested in exploring the same houses. I went my own way with it. The niche scene has really opened up over the last couple of years, though. There's just so much out there.

It's almost as gourmand as Black Orchid imo. I love Oud Woods scent profile, but it's too weak. I like Carved Oud better because it smells extremely similar but much more potent. I like Cherry Smoke more than lost cherry.
Have you tried noir extreme parfum? I like that a lot better than the original version.
I haven't smelled Bel Ami in current formulation or vintage.
