"rmccrae_deluxe, since I noticed you like the late great Phyllis Hyman, look for her quick cameo; Narada Michael Walden, too."
Thanks for the link, Peggy! We lost a great one, didn't we?
I heard Angela Bofill's voice in the background and it made me think of this classic
Angela Bofill -
I Try
Don't

let nobody tell you you ain't
strong enough -

Most definitely. Ms. Hyman is truly an example of unsung. So talented. So versatile. So underappreciated, IMHO.
"Remember Who You Are" by Norman Connors featuring Phyllis Hyman, 1992
(Angie Bofill is another favorite. Like Phyllis, so great in concert!)
Keep the faith.

Absolutely. Thanks for the Norman Connors song BTW, Peggy. And just in case you've never seen it before, here's a bit of Angela Bofill and Phyllis singing and joking around:

"Love that raw footage! At the Blue Note, no less. Thank you, rmcrae_deluxe!"
No problem, Peggy! I like Robin S.'s cover of YKHTLM. Believe it or not, Lisa Stansfield covered it too:
