If the 1927 WWII film WINGS were released today, due to some of the bloody air battles and some fairly strong language, (I know it is silent, but any knows about silent films and can read lips read words like "Heinie Bastards, Jesus Christ and sob but of course the intertitle cards would read otherwise, although "damn" and "hell" did apper off and on thoughout the silent era) anyway the film would probably get a PG-13 there is also some brief nudity and in a restaurant scene with take place in Paris, 2 WACS are seen holding hands and non chalantly kissing while other drunk officers look on in dismay.I guess it would depend on the mood of the MPAA ratings board, it could get by on a PG for violencemaybe, but this is an era where a film like THE LAST OF THE MOHICANS get and R rating for mild and brief bloody violence, but no sex or any bad language, but AUSTIN POWERS and sequels gets a PG-13 so that tells me that they less adult tht TLOTM.I have recommended MOHICANS to friends who normally do not watch R rated films, but can easily be rn on TV uncutand with a TVPG rating.I mean there are episodes of CSI that is 50 times or more as gory and gets a TVPGbut I regress, like I said the film is quite good, but is not necessary for youn children..WINGS that is

I think you mean WWI as WWII hadn't happened yet but to answer your question I think it probably would be a slightly higher rating but I don't know what the rating would be.

Don't worry man, I did it too.
Now the rating. Since they'd probably fill it full of blood if they were making it now a la Saving Private Ryan, than it'd probably get an R.

No problem, it's an honest mistake.

Assuming you mean if it was released today in its original silent format, I don't think the language would enter into the rating since most children can't read lips. As such, probably PG or PG-13 depending on their mood.

The MPAA doesn't like blood. You can have numerous decapitations as long as you don't show blood and get a PG-13 (LOTR and others.) Since they show blood coming out of an injured flyer in at least one scene the movie would probably get an R.

The MPAA re-rated it today and gave it a PG-13 for war violence.

I am watching it right now on Netflix (until 03-01-2016). The rating is PG-13 (I guess that someone noticed that Clara Bow wasn't wearing a bra - hubba hubba!).
