His servant explains how he's a putterer, but I missed seeing what he did with his hands. Whats a putterer? I cant find anything on google.

Have you never puttered? Puttered away in the kitchen or the garden? It's casually occupying your time with random actions. Usually unproductive or unnecessary, but nonetheless fulfilling on some level. The butler demonstrated puttering about the room by rearranging things on the table that required no rearranging.
