Anyone else cry over this movie?

I think this movie holds the record for the movie that has made me cry the most. The tears started about where Fredrick is in the Cafe, and they continued steadily until the end. I soaked my sleeve while watching it, and then I looked up reviews online, and then I cried over all those. However, my sister didn't think it was particularly touching.

I didn't cry. Maybe too old or the wrong sex. But I am very moved. I just finished watching it. Watched the last 15 minutes 3 times. Wow.
I was prepared to find it smaltzy and histrionic in an old fashioned kind of way. Forget it. No way. This is really moving, really superbly acted. Excellent script. Believable too, when you realize antibiotics were still 20 years in the future. That last word, "please." Wow.
I highly recommend this movie. Too bad it wasn't longer. On my DVD anyway it is only 78 minutes. It could have used 20 more minutes of development.
My hats off to Gary Cooper and Helen Hays.

I bought the 89 min, Image DVD and watched it today- all I can say is that it is certainl one of the greatest love stories I have ever seen. The script is wonderful and Cooper and Hayes really complement each other. This is also the earliest Gary Cooper film I have yet seen and it's amazing to see how great an actor he was so early in his career (particularly in the moments highlighted in the first post here).
The music score is well-paced and fitting, and as for the cinematography (especially during the war scenes), just.WOW..combined with the effective sound recording, these scenes pack a powerful punch and the film justifies its two Oscars.
