The question was not whether there are other things in the world that are bad for you, it was whether weed 'could be' and the fact is it might be bad for you, no sane person can deny that lighting something (anything) on fire and then breathing in the smoke is a healthy habit. The reason I say 'possibly physical' is because many psychological dependencies become physical ones. No sane person eats Rat Poison, thats why its called RAT poison. The reason it is difficult to link marijuana to cancer is because the majority of weed smokers also smoke cigarettes. Saying that someone does something 'because' its illegal is one of the oldest and lamest cop outs in debate history, and is just as irrelevant in this debate. Most marijuana consumers do not use vaporizers or eat it, eating it is actually more of a concern when out in public because of its full body high. You may not advocate driving while high, but too many of your fellow smokers/eaters/vaporizers, DO advocate it and believe it makes them better drivers, case in point the gentleman who posted just before you. Also, speaking of alcohol, some of you with sane and unbiased minds may notice a distinct similarity with the denial of marijuana users that it has ever caused an issue in their life. If you are trying to compare the nutritional value of a Sprite versus a 20 sack I think you might want to look into that a little more. The claim that the brain already having cannabinoid receptors has NOTHING to do with lack of physical dependence (by the way this is completely false claim, also worth mentioning is that cannabinoid is not even a real word), there are also the completely proven facts that weed causes damage to memory cells, the brain also secretes its own source of dopamine which is found in several narcotics, that have been proven to cause physical dependence, not the mention the fact that I personally have seen what happens to my friends when they are out for a few days, its almost precisely what happens when someone is hasn't had a cigarette in a couple weeks, no person that consumes more than a QP a week (a couple of my buddies) can claim that it is not a commanding part of their daily lives, you could easily compare this to alcoholism or any other more serious drug habit. The entire point of this was that it was asked what kind of health issues 'could' marijuana 'possibly' cause, and I answered honestly with my own research.

I have never "felt like not stopping at a light" while stoned. It's a light, it's there for everyone's safety, not wanting to stop isn't the weed, it's you being stupid. If Stop lights aren't for you, don't drive at all.
If one is not dedicated to the drive, and would rather look at the pretty flower on the side of the street, then walking is probably best
The first time My friend smoked and drove, she went 10 mph in a 30 zone, and thought she was going too fast. Once another car joined us on the same street, she paced herself to match his speed. It's not that hard.
I hate how IMDb signatures look like part of the post. -

Actually where I'm from it's about $225 for a QP and you can get it even cheaper if you buy more, such as a pound for $700, therefore coming closer $8,400 split between 2 people, but I digress. A single individual that smokes from a bong or pipe can easily consume enough pot to go through more than that. Lets say for example, you can reasonably place 2-3 grams of weed into a bong or pipe if you are doing that about a dozen times a day you are consuming 24-36 grams per day, somewhere on average around an ounce PER DAY, I have 2 friends that live together and do this on a regular basis easily going through a QP a piece a week.
Of course marijuana can cause problems. Doing anything in excess will. But just like alcohol, many marijuana smokers are able to control their usage and not let it become a problem. A generalization like this is the same as saying that many rapists are able to not let it become a problem, the issue isnt that its a problem for the one doing it, its a problem for the victims of their stupidity or carelessness, just above a poster mentioned that he sometimes doesnt stop at red lights because either his reaction time is to slow, or he just doesnt feel like it. He himself said as much, and his claim that he drives at night instead (as if it were safer then) is even more ludicrous, too many believe that its a great idea, take the guy at the bottom of this board.

Even if you take his response as satire, you still must admit that this kind of ignorance and stupidity, is somehow the norm among the average marijuana user.
Its just plain ridiculous to believe that there is some kind of giant conspiracy that affects 90% of civilized nations to make marijuana illegal. Its illegal because its side effects are not worth the moderate positives it might provide. Now dont get me wrong I am not saying that many of the prescription drugs that are available to the general public and are legal are better. They are just as bad and should not be legal anymore than marijuana or opium is.
Youre right not a single death has been directly linked to weed, that means no one has overdosed, (though thats a relative term), and no one has died from an allergic reaction. The reason this is a careless wording is because car deaths or work place deaths that are caused by some one who was on pot are not listed as cause of death, car accident or massive head trauma are the reasons listed. Do you really believe that no one, not a single person ever has been high and got into an accident and injured or killed someone? Thats a pretty naive viewpoint.

Check out "In Pot We Trust", what makes it reliable is the fact that it takes both sides of the issue.
