They have to check your references, ie your past addresses. Your previous landlord will tell them. Best to make yourself a better tennant in this currebt apartment and learn from previous mistakes.

Not what I'm saying. They will ask for address history in the last couple of years. They might even contact a previous landlord at that address to see what you were like as a tennant.
Based on what they say, that is a "REFERENCE OF YOU".
So saying again, stay where you are and start a fresh with the new landlord. Take your medicene, attend your psychiatric appountnents and no more accidental fires.
Otherwise no one will rent to you unless the government doubles the rent to them.
