Hi i live like half an hour away form the yorkshire moors where it is set. If they did do it agen they would ahve to do it so authentic like have the yorkshire accents and set on the actual yorkshire moors.
I heard a rumour just recently that they are thinking of doing it agen
Apparently Anjelina Jolie is doing it
she has been watchin a yorkshire soap opera to learn the accent apparantly
M night shayamalan was going to do a few years ago with johnny depp and angelina jolie but he chose to do the village insted
I think Johnny would be brill
But Rachel weisz would be better
u cant have two americans do an english part
I'll accept johnny but not Angelina -

To be honnest, I cant imagine Cate Winslet running throught the hills. I think of British actress Amelia Warner, as Cathy.

I would really like to see a younger Heathcliff and Cathy closer to the ages they were in the book so i could see Ameila Warner or Emily Blunt as Cathy and maybe Jonathan Rhys Meyers or Henry Cavill as Heathcliff.

They're all too old. Heathcliff dies when he's like 39, and for the first half of the book he's little older than 20. Joaquin Phoenix would be great for the older Heathcliff, but for the younger one it just wouldn't work. Orlanda Bloom is not a good actor, so no way would I want another adaptation ruined by bad casting.

Life expectancies were shorter. Their 20 year old doesn't look like our 20 year old. I think Johnny Depp would be perfect. I just can't think of someone exactly right for Cathy, though. I think an unknown would be the best option.

joaquin phoenix is TOO harsh to play healthcliffe
gerard butler would be perfect since in addition to his classic good looks of tall dark and handsome (reminiscent of old hollywood leading men) his acting ability is perfect for the character
kate winslet has the experience, sophistication and delicate beauty to play cathy. she is by far one of the most talented yet overlooked actresses of today. her range is incredible and she really learns to identify a character before playing them she would so accurately bring cathy to life on the screen
no one else could play these roles in my opinion -

No way is Angelina fit for 'Cathy'. And Lindsay Lohan? Hmm, come to think of it, she could play the younger Cathy.
My choice would be Keira Knightley or Kate Winslet. Actually Rachel Weisz could pull it off too. But uhh, guess we need a younger actress. Rosamund Pike and Emily Blunt are great options.
For Heathcliff, Phoenix has to got to be the best. Depp could fit too but he wouldn't make the perfect Heathcliff. -

Are we considering a remake of the 1939 movie or the novel? Both depict the characters in very different ways, casting would be affected. Heathcliff isn't the victimized, lovesick person you see in the movie in Bronte's novel. I loved the movie before I read the book.. then I turned on it because it gives people a false impression of the novel. Anyways, going back to my original question because it makes a big difference.
Insanity is knowing that what you do is completely idiotic but still somehow you just cant stop it.
