    So Spencer, or Oakley?
Maybe I've misremembered this: but I could have sworn that, when he's reminiscing about the old days with his sister, Uncle Charlie refers to her maiden name being "Emma Spencer". He's addressed as "Mr Spencer" in the prologue, but that appears to be a pseudonym - for the rest of the film, his name's Oakley.
A slip by the writer? Or did Charlie slip up, and call Emma by his fake name, and she was just too excited about having him back to notice?

Emma Spencer Oakley was her maiden nameandhe used Spencer as an alias at the boarding house at the beginning.
I'm a Lieutenant Detective in, uh, Homicide. That's a fancy name for murder.
