— 3 years ago(February 18, 2023 06:31 AM)I had more of a real world experience, not rooted in collecting POGS, eating lots and lots of Pizza Hut, collecting McDonald's toys more than once a month, etc. … video games, lots of love lots of hugs, older teenage family members, and the like. I'm just a physical mystical!
I did gymnastics and some ballet.

You skipped over the 80s. Why? The Reagan era (as we'll call it) was pretty epic.
Hippies and flower children were associated more with the sixties than the seventies. The sixties, one of our most turbulent decades ever, began with The Twilight Zone, The Andy Griffith Show, Elvis Presley and JFK and ended with Woodstock (and its darker twin Altamont), the moon landing, Vietnam, assassinations, race riots, and the Tate-LaBianca murders. So much went on during that decade. Our culture changed drastically over those ten years of chaos.
The seventies was a little less intense but it was still an unstable decade. The hippies mellowed out (or, rather, burnt out). Crime rates and white flight in major cities went up. Inflation went up. Gas lines stretched for blocks. Racial violence moved out of the rural South and into Northern cities. The seventies began with The Brady Bunch, All In The Family, the Vietnam war still raging, Kent State, the Manson trial, bell-bottoms and epic rock music and ended with Three's Company, Saturday Night Fever, Jonestown, the Iranian revolution (and hostage crisis), and the birth of punk and new wave music. It was a loooong and influential decade.
Let's hear it for the Seventies!
