One thing I love about this movie is that it lacks the police presence that a lot of gangster movies at the time tacked on. This is a bad example because it's such a great movie, but White Heat has a real police presence in it that you don't see in later post-Godfather gangster movies - but you see it plenty in gangster movies that came out after the production code crunch. Not this one though - the cops are virtually anonymous and the story is told completely through the criminals' POV. Just like I like it.

Many people still feel that the man outside the Biograph Theater was NOT Dillinger at all, but one of Polly (the prostitute) "johns," and Melvin Purvis murdered him by accident, and then claimed it was Dillinger. How, though, did the man have the wrong eye color? Dillinger was often spotted in Indiana, Ohio, and other Midwest states.
Anyhow, "borracho" is drunkard in Spanish.
