I've read that a Mickey Mouse cartoon is seen somewhere in this movie. Does anyone know which cartoon it is?

Yes, it shows a clip from
Mickey's Gala Premiere
(1933). In fact, the clip he watches is from the film-within-the-film. In
Gala Premiere
, all the movie stars in Hollywood go to watch Mickey Mouse in his newest picture:
Galloping Romance
, which ends with Mickey, riding a kangaroo, shooting Pegleg Pete with a cannonball that propels him into a tree. Three birds hatch from their eggs, in the nest just below him, and pluck his nose to the tune of "Shave and a Haircut." That's the clip that appears in
Dillinger
