    I like it a lot. It seems her natural tone. But I also enjoy her sexy breathy speaking in films like Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.

      Yes, I like it natural, too. Her voice is this way also in "The River of No Return" and "Niagara".

            that phoney "breathiness" creeps though in a couple of scenesonce she adopted it permanently her acting took a real nosedive and she became a walking talking cartoon

                I see no problem and I understand actors change their voice according to the roles they are playing. But I like her voice less girly, like in this movie. MM's singing voice is quite beautiful as well.
