Boy, was I way off! I thought it was Mack Sennett in makeup, because he sometimes acted in his film shorts. I love William Wellman, and I really like all of his pre-code films. I saw the TCM documentary on him, and it was very good.

Do you see the same image that I see when you go to his page; a young African- American woman? I wonder who it is. I can't seem to figure out how to navigate IMDb's ' help ' link, so that I can notify them of the mistake.

Yes, I saw it, and I thought it was pretty strange. It must be a mistake. You can go to the contributions board, and the moderators will usually see posts citing mistakes and incorrect information. I usually do that when I research a celebrity when I find incorrect information. It works.

Well, if you can figure out how to inform them of the image mistake, please do it. I tried for the better part of a half hour and was unsuccessful. It seems like they go out of their way to make it difficult to get a message to them. I give up.

Thanks. There is a day on there named "luvstoresearch" on there. I will see if I can get a hold of them. I am sorry that you had some difficulty getting the message across. It usually wasn't like tha for you. Things weren't always like that. Time will tell.

Hey Katie,
I see that Wild Bill's page has been corrected. I'll bet that you had something to do with that. Good job. Thanks
By the way, I've probably seen ' The Ox-Bow Incident ' at least 25 times. There's an interesting anecdote about the film. Orson Welles was in the audience when the film was screened for the studio mucky mucks and their families. After it was over, he sensed that it didn't go over well with them. They seemed underwhelmed. As he was walking out, he approached Harry Morgan and said something like, " these people don't realize what they've just seen ". I love that story.
Steve
P.S. Now I won't be satisfied until I find out who that young African-American woman is. If I do, I'll let you know. I'll even try to get in touch with her and tell her how much someone thinks she looks like William Wellman. -

Your words are too kind Steve! I am sure Bill's page was back to normal after you went to the board and found the mistake.
You need to give yourself some credit.
I would love to see that film again. Orson Wells was a man ahead of his time. That is most certain.
I would love to find out who she is too. I wonder how she ended up on Mr. Wellman's page.

I'm quite confident that ' The Ox-Bow Incident ' is available at your local library. If not, I know that they would be able to get it through an intra-library loan. It's one of only 5 or 6 films that I rate a ' 10 '. If you get to see it, let me know your opinion.
