    I think that the film "Perdita Durango" offers the most honest homage to this movie, as its ending is a beautiful tribute to "Vera Cruz" (which is the main character's favorite movie).
    Fans of "Vera Cruz", you must see "Perdita Durango" (although look for the Unrated version, as the A-Pix release omits all the Vera Cruz references in order to avoid paying royalties, as clips of Vera Cruz are shown)
