Yeah, i've never seen a relationship develop so quickly. All it took was a few admiring glances.
Poor kid, if only he knew he was going to get left with his uncle while his mother made off with a convict.
Great ending I thought! I remember liking the 80's remake too.
As for "charlie potatoes", i'm curious of it's origins too. I've heard the phrase "charlie big potato" but i'm not sure if it's related. -

Charlie Potatoes is a Southern slang term applied to men who think they are hot stuff, or to put it the way a person who uses the term would say it, "A Charlie Potatoes is a man who thinks his s**t don't stink." It possibly began as a reference to a man's gonads.
