I read somewhere the original ending has the dead returning and surrounding the cottage Bob is in? that makes more sense than what they did.
good movie though. would have been better with that original ending.

        Sorry for the unclickable link!!
I had read it on other places too.
That would have been a kick!

They should have gone with that ending - the one they have now is a bummer.

I made this link clickable for you here classics_guy
            .
Thanks also for this movie review link
and your subject post too classics_guy
            .
I'm watching this movie for the very first time
            on the new channel COMET
            .
So far excellent storyline , film scores , actors etc.
            .
I haven't seen this film to the end as of yet
but this original ending you mentioned here
does seem like a good one for this film
( IMPO - even though this film was made first the storyline seems almost like a hybrid / mixture of two well known TV Shows - " Twilight Zone " from 1959 & " Thriller " from 1960

            • quite intriguing ! )
              .

you're welcome. and thank you for the link!
interesting reading. it's been a while since I watched this.
always found it chilling. especially spooky when he locks himself in the shed waiting for what will happen.
wish I got Comet on my cable company. I love these types of movies.
I have the Twilight Zone collection on DVD.

I have the Twilight Zone collection on DVD.
I also have this wonderful TZ Collection on DVD too classics_guy
and it is so worth it to own indeed
( especially with all the complete episodes and extras in this collection too - just love that most of the episodes have a section for " isolated music scores "
                as well ! )
                .
Speaking of TZ - if you have the SyFy Channel on your cable system
                starting on -
Sunday July 3rd at 11:30PM until Tuesday July 5th at 4AM ( eastern time )
is the " Twilight Zone July 4th Marathon "
                .
                It usually starts earlier ( about 8AM ? )
but for some unknown reason to us IMDB TZ Board Fans here
it's on much later this year
                .
Oh well I guess we can take what
we can get of this channel for marathons
( it is SyFy after all ? )
                .
I'm just passing this on to you if you are interested
                .
                Thanks again classics_guy
                .

It's great isn't it? a friend sent me the collection. I love listening to the commentaries
Thanks for reminding me of the marathon. I watch it every year. but somehow I kinda forgot this time around. (a lot going on lately)
Funny how I have the collection but still enjoy watching it on SyFy
fittingly I love the episode "The Midnight Sun" this time a year. cause it is so hot!
"Ring-Ding-Girl" and "Jesse-Belle" are such poignant episodes.
as well as "Walking Distance" just to name a few!

I do the same exact thing too classics_guy
                    .
It must be a signature thing of us " TZ Addicts " here
                    .
I guess we just can't get enough of this fine show
                    .
                    I agree " The Midnight Sun " , " Ring-Ding-Girl " , " Jesse-Belle "
                    and " Walking Distance "
are all quite memorable episodes indeed
                    .
Yet there are so many more unforgettable moving episodes in this unique show also
( 156 episodes to choose from as well
                    ) .
