a tall glass of lemonade and a long cold shower! I'll bet any woman in 1962 would have 'ben quick' to jump into bed with Paul Newman. He and Joanne sizzle on screen.

I'll drink to that. I don't know if there has been an equal to Paul Newman's rugged, sexy, manliness.
I think I'm going to have to catch up on some classic Newman films
Great movie, enjoyed every minute of it.

I'm with both of you - there's just no equivalent today! His sexiness is just so effortless. And he's so ripped, but without looking like a waxed, coiffed, West Hollywood gym rat.
          Where are the real men?

Hotty cha-cha! I love The Long Hot Summer! Paul was gorgeous (fans self) and he and Joanne were some kinda electrifying!
They married almost immediately after filming was through and the marriage has lasted over 50 years! When asked about fidelity in marriage, Mr.Newman replied, "Why go out for hamburger when you have steak at home." Doesn't that make your heart go pitty-pat?!? I just love a monogamous man!
Take a look at Paul in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, too! He plays opposite Elizabeth Taylor and both were so beautiful! There are several shirtless or open shirt shots here! Also it's a very excellent movie, another one of my favorites!

rebus29 I couldn't agree with that more though since his passing it's hard to watch some of the scenes they appear in together cause they were so in love that those scenes trigger an image of her now without him heartbroken and in tears a frail shadow of the shimmering star she once was now dimmed by his abscence especially with their anniversary coming up my heart and thoughts are with her may the precious memories she has of him help to heal her heart one that never deserved to be so profoundly broken
