So, there's a recap of where we are. Until you started naming all of the recent Titanic miniseries and docu-dramas and how good they are or aren't.
Bottom line. No matter how good a Titanic show or movie isit will ALWAYS be compared to the Cameron film. And it will always live in Cameron's shadow.

short memory. The person who brought up and started naming "recent Titanic miniseries" was
you.
I merely replied to your observation (agreeing with you) and elaborated on it, naming exactly one additional miniseries (hardly "all the recent" blah blah blah). Exaggeration much?
Since you are clearly not interested in discussion, or even modest accuracy, you are right case closed. -

There was another TV mini series that was released in the mid-late 90's just before the release of JCT. It was simply called Titanic and starred George C Scott and Tim Curry and that stank.
It had some elements of fact in it which centred around Alice Cleaver who was the Nurse for baby Trevor Allison who took Trevor to the lifeboats leaving the rest of the Allison family (Father, Mother and 3yo daughter) to their fate. The daughter, Lorainne, was the only child from 1st class NOT to survive the sinking. -

DiCaprio wasn't the first to do that, and he won't be the last.
The poster who said that any version will live in the shadow of Cameron's version is talking through his hat. At least 'A Night To Remember' highlights the ship and its sinking. In Cameron's version it is almost a side issue, with everything being saved up for the fancy CGI finale, not to mention the portraying of certain characters in a bad light when there is evidence to the contrary. And what was all that nonsense about when an Irish steerage passenger used the word 'Limey'? Ah, of course, another nod to the American audience and its belief that the English are oppressive baddies while all Americans are of Irish descent. Yeah right. -

I totally agree.
It doesn't NEED to be remade, with a teenage "love interest" to bring in the fan girls.
ANTR tells the story of THE SHIP, and its doomwhich is as it should be. It wasn't meant to be a 1912 version of "Luke and Laura".
The acting was superb, and understated, which made the story even more poignant.
I do hope he won't upset Henry
