That's because it's
a B&W film
, and it should have been left that way. Colorizing old B&W films is defacing art. It's like painting a mustache on the Mona Lisa. It's wrong imho.
It's one of my favorite films, and seeing it defaced upsets me.

MovieManCin2, I understand your disapproval but not your ANGER. As Hitchcock used to say "It's only a movie."
I'm not suggesting that most B&W films be colorized…it depends on the film. No to Casablanca or The Maltese Falcon but yes to Miracle On 34th Street or Laurel and Hardy's March of the Wooden Soldiers. Provided, of course, the colorization is well done. Some of the earlier attempts were atrocious but the "art" of colorization has improved greatly over the years.
A Night to Remember in color would be a judgement call imho. This colorization is not the best but decent enough to make it interesting.
I would not be inclined to paint a mustache on the Mona Lisa but see nothing wrong as long as it's not the original. -

Perhaps I overreacted just a bit, Hitch. And I wouldn't mind a mustache painted on anything which
wasn't
the original.
