In it's a good life.Anthony fremont probably showed signs of his powers slowly.Why didn't they try to teach how to use his powers
for good things from the very start?While he was growing older?

Author Jerome Bixby was upset that the show used a six-year-old who could perhaps be reasoned with rather than the three-year-old of his story, but the episode made it pretty clear Anthony couldn't be reasoned with.
