I mean, the ending really gave me that thought. The guy found out that the "she" was actually a "he", but didn't even care and kissed him anyway. Now I wonder how THAT passed the censors??

I don't know where you get the idea that he kissed Jack Lemmon after learning he was a man. Didn't happen.
His response of "Nobody's perfect" was a ridiculous, funny punchline to end a great screwball comedy. He was on autopilot, and just in denial that anything Lemmon said could deter him from marriage. -
