The documentary is included in the bonus features of the Criterion DVD. Before he made this film, the director made a documentary about French slaughterhouses. It opens with with a horse's head being severed. It's quite shocking and abrupt, especially if you were expecting a feature on this film (if you didn't read the menu closely or your French isn't that good).

Oooh! I was wondering what that was. I thought it might have been a trailer, so I didn't bother viewing it. Hm..kinda curious to see it now.

Yes, it's really abrupt and shocking, especially if you don't know what you're in for.
Generally bonus features are related to the film, but this is an earlier documentary by the director. It's certainly worthwhile including it in the Criterion DVD for fans of the director, but it's not otherwise related to "Eyes Without a Face."
I watched some of the documentary, but I just couldn't stomach it after a bit. But I suspect the worst part was the beheading of the horse, which is right at the beginning of the film. It's hard for me to imagine the rest being more gruesome, but I guess it's possible. -

The body being dragged after slumping facelessly in the rear of the car is pretty creepy.
I was most impressed by the anonymous stunt lady that allowed herself to be dragged in that way with bare feet across the rough road surface - that must have played havoc with her pedicure!
Come on lads, bags of swank! -

For some reason the shot of Louise dragging the body of the first victim has always stuck with me.
Thats funny cos me and my friend watched a bit on youtube (My uni tutor advised me to watch this film for some insperation) and the thing that creeped us out was that and the way the body was slumped in the back of the car with the hat tilted over it's face.
Often adressed as "Oh god no! Please stop, i dont want to die!!!!!! -

I think for me it was the scene near the end when the Final Girl wakes up from sedation after the doc has left and sees she's restrained in a hospital bed in this creepy basement operating room with forceps all over her and starts screaming. And THEN this ghostlike girl in a white mask comes at here real slow-like with a scalpel! It really gets you into her head and the terror and confusion she must be feeling, especially given the already bizarre couple of days she's been having.
It is 5 AM, and you are listening to Los Angeles.
