Cartoon Network have announced that they are going to start showing reruns of The Flintstones on there tv channels.
Reruns of The Flintstones are now showing on Boomerang tv channel.
In the last few years reruns of The Flintstones have been shown on tv but at random times or during the middle of the night. -

Wow I am glad to see the Boomerang channel still broadcasts repeats of the Flintstones, the cable company that is in my family's home doesn't have this channel, but other another one that was bounced back and forth from did. But I have all 6 seasons of the show on dvd so it really doesn't matter to me.

Honestly, I agree, and I think for a lot of us it's a little too late. Home media is just so much of a better choice nowadays for re-runs than cable. (And streaming would be nice too of they would actually license them somewhere)
Back when they started treating older shows as disposable quantities, a lot of us cared. But I think most of kind of happily moved on.
I certainly hope they don't think too many people are going to magically come back to watch Flintstones in the daytime when we can watch them anytime we want on a disc of downloadable file, do they?

And I am remember correctly it was early in the morning something like 3:00 A.M. or even 4:00 A.M. so really to watch it when you are more wake you have to dvr episodes. And plus you would have commercials breaks that you don't get on dvd.

Andfor Canadian fans of the show:
Teletoon airs "The Flintstones" Monday thru Thursday at 7:30pm EST.
Same episode airs later in the wee hours of the morning, but I can't remember the time.
Even though I have all the seasons on DVD, if I'm sitting around watching nothing in particular, I will watch it for kicks. I mean"Jeopardy!" is in hiatus right now.

I assume that is what most of the views today are. After years of some of the older shows being treated like disposable filler, I can't imagine that many people that regularly enjoy the shows to be relying on cable.
Needing something to throw on, yes. Channel surfing, yes. Main source, no. They've yabba-dabba-doozied too many of them, for too long.
