Hey guys. I barely post on here, but I've read a lot.
And just want to say thanks for all the fascinating movie talk you guys have given me. Sad those evil people in charge are just throwing it all away.

It is not the "evil" people in charge that is at fault.
Some posters took over some of the
threads to bash our politics of today.
A few ruin it for the rest of us.

Sounds like the made up excuse they would give. Really it's all about eliminating anonymous posts in order to better monitor us and gain advertising revenue.
Trust me, trolls have been on here for years, and have never been more than an occasional nuisance. Claiming they are shutting down EVERY board because of it, is pure lies.

@Seto012. Yes, I think that discussion boards like the one for Psycho (1960) and those for other beloved older films are rather the best cases for IMDb's system. By way of contrast, many more general boards as well as boards for recent blockbusters are the worst cases - overwhelming numbers of aggressive and ignorant and deliberately offensive posts and posters can make visiting them like visiting a sewer.
One general board I read,'Movie Awards', was overrun last year by Trolls who kept on generating new identities to spew their garbage, so one's own blocking/ignoring had to be updated every day to keep pace, which itself got old. This phenomenon had seemed to quiet down a bit recently, but I wouldn't mind betting that its occurrence was one of the 'final straws' as far as Amazon was concerned.
