I would have been -6 since I was not born until 1967. I think its really cool to know that people who may be in their 70's, as the OP was, and even older are hip enough to be posting about films they love on IMDB. I just saw the movie for the very first time and I absolutely adored it.

I think that SOMEWHERE in the world, someone is watching "Breakfast at Tiffany's" for the very first time! I envy them!! You simply MUST read Truman Capote's novella, though! No happy ending. Boy DOESN'T get girl, boy GETS cat, instead!!

I was a long way off, but my dad would have been 5 years old.
I still marvel at how different the early 60s were compared to what came later. Men still wore suits and hats, women skirts and dresses, big old boxy cars, and everyone seemed to smile at each other and whistle as they walked down the street.

i watched this movie when i was 14 a few years ago and LOVED IT!!
