They projected their parents' hated of Hispanics onto the Sharks, yet they hated their parents as well. If they hated their parents and saw what jerks they were, then why would they agree with them that Hispanics were the problem? The reason the Jets' "Old men" were losing their jobs and abusing their kids and wives probably had more to do with heavy drinking and drug use over the influx new immigrants.
