Rob Zombie should remake this.

This movie is too classy and well-written; we need a remake to appeal to today's audience, and Rob Zombie should be the one to make it.
First, we need the right actors to play the parts. Sherri Moon Zombie should be cast to play Mary and Sid Haig to play The Man.
The characters have to be reinvented to be as dirty and stupid as can be. With that in mind, Mary should be written as a bisexual prostitute, the Minister as a wild-eyed fire-and-brimstone preacher who gives Mary a job as church organist in exchange for sex, and John Linden as a serial rapist who sodomizes Mary after each encounter with her.
This film should be as gritty and nasty as possible, so the ending should have Mary and all the other ghosts rapidly decomposing and falling apart while having a Satanic orgy on the beach.
I think this would be awesome. What do the rest of you think?

Of course I'm joking. I wouldn't use phrases like "this film is too classy and well-written" if I were being serious.

I am a fan of Rob Zombie's, but I don't think another remake would be good for his career. There are already enough people that constantly whine and complain every chance they get saying "Oh, he has never had an original thought in his life. All he does is rip off other people's films and make inferior versions of them, blah blah blah" and another remake would only do more to make those people think they're right.
Come, fly the teeth of the wind. Share my wings. -

"Oh, he has never had an original thought in his life. All he does is rip off other people's films and make inferior versions of them, blah blah blah"
That honestly pretty much sums up his entire career thus far.
