I was wondering
When 007 got to his Hotel room in Jamaica and checked his Closet, why did he check his Briefcase, Smell the Vodka and Open a fresh one?
this scene is Changes to when he finds a spider on his bed. -

He had put talcum powder on the briefcase before he left, and checked it when he came back so he could see if anyone had came in and touched or opened it, essentially the same reason he put the hair over the closet door aswell.

He can't be too sure, he wanted to know if someone snuck into his room while he was away.

The thing that always bewildered me about this scene is that when he suspects the first bottle is bad, he freely uses the other one, as if the bad guys would have only touched one and not the other. Just bizarre.
In the novel
The Man With The Golden Gun
, Bond even put a tiny nick on the handle of his razor, to see if anyone would unscrew it, which is what happened. Being a spy makes you paranoid about everything.
And scientists have never been able to explain why in the tropical Caribbean ice doesn't melt like it does everywhere else.
I can't figure out what, "this scene is Changes to when he finds a spider on his bed," means, though.
Resolutely Analog In A Digital World!

The second bottle was unopened. Otherwise, Bond would've noticed.
