To be fair, a lot of Bond films are like this or have other problems. In Goldfinger, Bond pretty much screws up or fails at nearly every important point. He doesn't even really figure in defeating Goldfinger's plans. That was Pussy and the bomb expert.

Strangerhand
, I'm not speaking for
jinmo2010
, but I think my response here at
http://www.imdb.com/board/10055928/board/thread/215286930?d=262582546#262582546
answers your question. Sort of, anyway.
And
crood
, don't forget that Ms. Galore "changed her ways" as a result of Bond's intervention. It was only after their encounter in the barn that she realized she wasn't really a lesbian, and didn't hate men, and therefore shouldn't help Goldfinger with his scheme. (You see Bond doesn't sleep with women because he's a male chauvinist pig, he's actually trying to help them find their true selves. )
But wait a minute. Since it was previously established that Bond had
REALLY
messed up in
Dr. No
by creating a nuclear catastrophe, that would have meant that, assuming he wasn't shot by firing squad, he'd be wasting away in the Tower of London. So I guess that means that Ms. Galore would still be a lesbian, and oh, I don't know. What was the original question?
