I am not sure if this was a Twilight Zone or Outer Limits episode. It may have been some other show entirely. Saw it is a kid in the 60s.
Just recall bites. A man enters a sort of western town its empty he falls into a deep tank or well. He has been trapped there by another man who can see him through a camera at the top of the hole. Slowly the hole is filled with water

I vaguely recall an episode of One Step Beyond about a man trapped in a mine shaft, who's rescued because of a dream his wife has, but I don't remember anything about a man trapped in a well. If I had to hazard a guess, perhaps Alfred Hitchcock Presents?

No, this was definitely the man's wife. I even remember the names of the characters: Fred and Edna.
