In Bubbie Kantor's kitchen in the 1988 movie Crossing Delancey there is a strange looking appliance. It can be seen on the left side of the screen in this clip at 2:11, 2:29, 2:52, and 2:59. Does anyone know what it is?

Wow! Thanks. I didn't realize that the bottom was just a stand/cabinet. I was thrown by the size. I tried searching vintage portable washing machine. A few were about the same size. To me, it looked like a restaurant buffet warmer which didn't make sense for a small apartment kitchen. Did you have one?

I have a modern roaster oven and they pretty much look the same except no stand.

Yes, it was. Not sure what you are unsure of.
I suppose you're just "messin' with me".
