Hmmm I'd like to think that Tom let the family keep the house and, because he is so rich, bought a different one. Him and Nancy married and lived happily ever after as did Julia and the Charles. Grin What does everyone else like to think happened? Just for the sake of happy thoughts.

I think that Nancy and Tom married as did Julia and Charles. Maybe even Gilly and Lallie Joy.
Nancy and Tom married and since he was rich, Nancy married into money. But that was not what made them happy. He had socials with rich friends, but so many of them seemed unhappy in their marriages because money was always more important. It was not like that with Tom and Nancy. They went on to have 3 kids.
Julia and Charles-They married and also had 3 children. She never did have any more contact with the Fergusons. -

Yes, of course Tom eventually married Nancy. I like to think that she went to college first, so their's was a very long courtship. Nancy became wealthy through her marriage and her mother got to keep the yellow house. Tom and Nancy traveled a lot, had children, and were based in a big Eastern city like Boston or New York, but always spent holidays with her family in Maine.
That's how I like to imagine it anyway. -

I agree. I think Tom and Nancy married. They paid for Gilly's college and started a trust fund for Peter as well as their own kids. Mrs. Carey got to keep the Yellow house. Everyone spends the holidays there. Plus the kids visit with Grandma Carey and Uncle Peter in the summer.
