Ahem, I was paying more attention to Susannah York and Joan Greenwood, but, yes, I have to agree Finney was a remarkably handsome young man. Knowing him only from movies like
Erin Brokovich
and
Big Fish,
I was surprised to say the least.
This world is a comedy to those that think, a tragedy to those that feel. -

HAHA yeah he got pretty frumpy looking when he got older, but I was pretty surprised how attractive he was as a young man. Not drop dead gorgeus modely attractive, but certainly quite handsome. He always had more rounded features but I think he got bit more "rounded" when he got older but more around the tummy lol!

That's odd, I thought he looked exactly the same as he does in later films; he's just much younger in this movie. I saw Two for the Road with Audrey Hepburn and thought the same thing. His distinctive voice certainly hasn't changed.
