Interesting responses, I agree on the following roles:
Herman Munster: Brad Garret
Lily Munster: Catherine Zeta-Jones
Grandpa: Robin Williams
Marylin could easily be played by several actresses. A good Eddie would be difficult to find. All of the child actors I could think would be best for the role are too old nowperhaps an unknown would be best?
I disagree that a Munsters remake would follow the same path as "Bewitched". That Addams family and the Beverly Hillbillies did so well, why not the Munsters? Good writing could make it a success. The Addams Family and BH Hillbillies seemed like a an attempt to use the old formula and enhance it with a modern setting. They were nostalgic and appealed to a wide audience. "Bewitched" was a movie about a remake of "Bewitched". That formula was boring and unappealing. -

"The Beverly Hillbillies" remake was so funny!
(Penelope Spheeris also did "Little Rascals")
"Bewitched" would have been better if Nicole Kidman
was less softspoken and if she (at least) did the famous
Elizabeth Montgomery/Samantha hairstyle. And Nicole's
clothes in the movie were too "scoccer mom-ish" (wich
is an elimination of all glamour.)
No adult (or child) fan of the 60's show (that I know of)
likes the 90's Addams movies. The only person I've ever met
who liked the Anjelica Huston movie versions was my friend,
and we were five years old! Even back then I did not like
Anjelica's versions. (it was too slapsticky for me).
But I love the 1960's Carolyn Jones Addams family show.
(besides Carolyn) Only Cher can properly take on the role
of Morticia Addams. So I hope that whomever does the new
Munsters movie asks Cher to make a cameo as Morticia.

Eddie: Definately David Dorfman. Although I was gonna suggest Blake Woodruff, but he may be too old. Or MAYBE Colin Ford.<<
Actually, David Dorfman is 15 and looks it. Blake is 13, and Colin is 12.
Blake can easily play younger, as could Colin. If I were them, I would go younger still, however. Maybe someone to play 9 or 10. -

I hope this could be a great film with a good budget. I agree with everyones choices for a cast.
They can add so much. On top of Uncle Gill (my fave cameo on the show), you have the invisable man and the mummy (a great word play for Lilys mom?).
Im a fan of the Addams Family films. I hope this one comes out well if it get made. -

Herman MunsterBrad Garret (naturally)
Lily Munster Daryl Hannah (hey, she played on a Addams Family movie, she can do it!)
Grandpa Robin Williams (no doubt about it!)
Marilyn Munster Amanda Bynes
Eddie Munster The kid from the remake of the Omen (sorry, don't remember his name!) -

Herman Munster- Not a big fan of Brad Garrett, he kinda annoys me in roles other than Robert Barrone.
Lily Munster- Catherine Zeta-Jones, no one else even comes close. Daryl Hannah was horrible in that Addams remake.
Grandpa- Williams is a good choice. But i thought with a fake nose Harvey Keitel could do it.
Marilyn Munster- Kristen Bell. But i'm kind of bias since I think kristen bell should be in every movie.
Eddie- who knows
but i def think the movie should't be updated, but keep in the 60s range cos this kind of story only works in that kind of sense. i think that's why bewitched failedplus, you kno, the horrible writing and casting.

It's funny I should mention this, but I was watching The Big Tease on Reelz Channel, and they made mention of a Munsters movie that will be helmed by the Wayans brothers!!!
This was mentioned after showing the trailer to their upcoming movie "Dance Movie". -

Lily is like hundreds of years old. And looks about in her mid to late thirties physically. Marilyn is around nineteen or twenty.
