I am an adult who loves the Addams Family movies. This is a textbook example of how to do a tv adaptation right.
Bewitch bombed because they were trying to make it so 'hip' they forgot about the series and why people originally had liked it. Just stick to the sitcom and you'll have a big screen hit. -

Herman=Brad Garrett (obvious)
Lily=Bebe Neuwirth (currently on stage in a musical based off of "The Addams Family", she wouldn't need much make-up
)
Grandpa=Jerry Stiller
Marilyn=Jessica Simpson (sexy while having an air of innocence to her)
Eddie=Atticus Shaeffer (Brick from "The Middle")

s to the right.
Here I am, stuck in the middle with you! -

To a some extent imafaik is right. However as much of a genius as Zemeckis must be to have done the "Back To The Future" movies, he also did stinkers "Death Becomes Her" and "Who Framed Roger Rabbit," and "Polar Express" isn't that great either. Bruce Willis floundering in "Death Becomes Her" shows that a great actor can't save a lame script. Daryl Hannah in "Roxanne" does show that a lousy actor can douse a good script. So both movie and cast have to be good.
I think Tom Hanks might make a better grandpa than Robin Williams. Williams mostly does his trademark zany/manic humor and that wouldn't work for Grandpa. Hanks is better at "buddy" work and his sardonic/sarcastic style would be perfect. -

How about I throw a cat maong the pidgeons and suggest Jim Carrey as Hermann and Mike Myers as Grandpa. What a combination that would be. Carrey with his rubber mask face and Myers with his Dr Evil weirdness might just work.
